This past weekend, my family visited San Francisco. Of course, we also visited Alcatraz Island. While listening to the audio tour and walking around the prison, I learned that some of the cons crocheted in their cells! Well, if you're stuck in a cell with nothing to do, crocheting is a great way to pass time. Apparently, one man's grandma had taught him how to crochet, so he taught his fellow prisoners how to crochet as well. I guess I do have something in common with those prisoners after all.
